About
Check an HTTPS server’s TLS certificate, hostname verification and expiration. Inspect the certificate details without a website-safety score.
What verified means
Our server established a TLS connection with certificate and hostname verification. The result includes the presented certificate and negotiated protocol.
What this is not
This is not a full cipher-suite, revocation, vulnerability or website-safety audit. A valid certificate protects a connection; it does not prove that the site operator is trustworthy. Expiry, name mismatch and untrusted-chain errors are shown when verification identifies them; a timeout alone is not called an invalid certificate.
Try this
Check example.com, then compare the requested hostname with the certificate names and expiry. A hostname mismatch means the certificate does not match that requested name, even if its dates are valid.
Network checks originate from the WhatsMyIP server. Only public destinations are accepted. Timeouts may reflect filtering or network conditions rather than a faulty website.
Use the result as one part of your troubleshooting. Network information can change over time.
A useful next step
- Inspect DNS records — Check where the HTTPS hostname points.
- Check port 443 — Investigate connectivity before certificate verification.
