YOUR CONNECTION, IN MOTION

Let’s see how it flows.

Usually around 25 seconds.

Uses up to 512 MiB of data. You can stop at any time.

Real transfers. A short warm-up. Then a sustained measurement.

How it works & test limits

Each direction gets a short warm-up, then an 8-second measurement target. Fast connections may reach the data cap earlier; slow transfers can take longer. Limit: 3 test starts per connection within 5 minutes, followed by a 5-minute wait after the third start.

HTTP throughput between your browser and this WhatsMyIP server, including Cloudflare and the server’s connection. It is not a certification of your ISP’s line speed. Warm-up transfers are excluded. Final speeds use completed transfers and elapsed time, including request overhead. The chart shows a running average, not simulated activity.

For a more consistent comparison, keep this tab visible and pause other downloads. Wi-Fi, VPNs, other traffic and server load can all affect the result.

About

Measure download and upload speed and HTTP response time between your browser and our server. Watch live progress and review the measurement limits.

Make comparisons fair

Pause other transfers, keep this tab visible and repeat under similar conditions. Compare wired and Wi-Fi results separately, and note whether a VPN is active.

Keep a result

After a completed test, use Copy JSON or Download JSON below the dashboard. Expand Technical details to read the raw measurements. The report includes the actual measurement duration and whether the data cap shortened it.

Try this

Run once with other downloads paused. Read the measured duration as well as Mbps: if the data cap shortened a phase, the result says so. Repeat under the same conditions before comparing changes.

Use the result as one part of your troubleshooting. Network information can change over time.
